Pays de l'Or Agglomération (POA) has been considering the reuse of treated wastewater by its treatment plants for almost 15 years.
In the La Grande Motte area, several REUSE pre-feasibility studies have already been carried out by the urban community of the Pays de l'Or (BCEOM 1990, SAFEGE 2009). However, the regulatory context did not allow the actors to concretely implement these projects for the identified uses. Recent regulatory developments (2014-2016) now allow us to move on to the operational stage.
The La Grande Motte's golf course irrigation project with treated wastewater has been validated by the Rhône-Méditerranée-Corse Water Agency as part of its call for projects "Let's reuse treated wastewater!" launched in 2016. At this stage of the project, it selected a first phase of operation corresponding to the completion of the project management mission and to the works for watering the Golf of La Grande Motte, before a possible extension for other uses (including green spaces in the municipality).
In accordance with the regulations in force, an authorization file must be submitted to the competent authorities in order to prove the conformity of the project as well as the absence of environmental and health impacts.
The Ecofilae group carries out the assembly and monitoring of the regulatory dossier for the irrigation of the La Grande Motte's international golf course with treated wastewater.
