The oil & gas industry produces volumes of water at the level of the fields of exploitation. This production water is usually treated, then reinjected, or discharged to the surface.

TOTAL E&P wishes to set up a demonstrator pilot to develop production water for irrigation in one of its field subsidiaries. TOTAL E&P commissioned ECOFILAE to carry out a diagnosis and an assessment of the potential of its subsidiary located in Qatar.

The mission entrusted to ECOFILAE was to:

Evaluate the relevance of the Qatari site for the implementation of a demonstrator pilot to develop production water for irrigation;
Identify and analyze the possible technical options for setting up the pilot (water quality and treatment, crops, location, etc.).

Ecofilae’s actions

  • Site diagnostic;
  • Proposals and Assessment of Scenarios and technical options for the implementation of the demonstrator pilot land development of production water in irrigation.
